Our client have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Service Manager to join their team in Sheffield on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Service Manager your main focus will be leading and motivating a field-based service team, with your key objective to drive the performance of the service business whilst delivering upon customer promises.

You will have a field service background, experience of successfully leading a remote service team, care deeply about customer satisfaction, whilst having a keen eye for detail and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels. Basic financial and business understanding will also be of benefit. You will have engineering experience ideally in the crane industry or in another relevant industrial maintenance sector.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Service Manager's main duties will include:

  • Ensuring that service requests are carried out safely and correctly in line with safety procedures and legislation with a focus on continuous development of our client's safety culture
  • Leading and managing the field service team to support all maintenance and repair related service requests
  • Review and manage service technician field labour hours to maximise productivity and utilisation
  • Delivering upon promises to drive continuous improvement of customer experience
  • Manage margin/performance of service requests to ensure accurate execution within estimated labour and material costs
  • Manage customer planned maintenance programmes ensuring adherence to customer agreement schedules
  • Provide technical support to service technicians and facilitate contact with appropriate resources as needed
  • Assist the Branch Manager in establishing training needs and recruitment requirements for the field service team
  • Assist the Branch Manager with conducting site safety audits of the service technicians at customer sites
  • Supporting estimators with operationally derived quotations and customer consultations
