£45,000 Per Annum, £5,000 Car Allowance, 25 Days' Holiday Plus BH, Pension Scheme, Employee Assistance Programme

Quantity Surveyor Purpose:

  • The Quantity Surveyor is a functional specialist overseeing all commercial duties, including pricing, contracts and subcontractors, whilst working closely with the finance function.
  • As our client have grown, so has the need for detailed pricing, more contractual client relationships and secure supply chain and this role in central to all of those.
  • The demands of these contractual relationships will need to be carefully balanced with our client’s collaborative ethos and principles.
  • Day to day duties will require interaction and cooperation with all functions from sales, through design and production to construction.
  • The role involves a combination of office and site attendance.

Quantity Surveyor Reports to:

  • Finance Manager.

Quantity Surveyor Key Accountabilities:

  • Ownership of project pricing, from initial assessment via estimate to final quotation.
  • Complete take offs and bills of quantities where required.
  • Agree and managing client contracts, including applications, variations and final accounts.
  • Prepare and delivery project cashflows.
  • Establish project budgets using line element cost codes and delivering margin against these.
  • Manage the supply chain – including consultants, subcontractors and suppliers – to ensure back to back contract terms and aligned framework agreements.
  • Administration of the supply chain bible, adding new suppliers where required and removing those that consistently fail to perform.
  • On site valuations and applications to clients including final accounts at project completion.
  • On site measurement of subcontractor works, producing payment certificates and payless notices if required.
  • Final account agreement with subcontractors, managing contract charges and retentions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System at all times, keeping paper and electronic documentation, records and filing up to date.
  • Operate with the highest regard to Health & Safety ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety policy.
