Installation Manager

£45,000 - £50,000 DOE, Plus 10-15% Bonus, Car/Car Allowance

Our well-established client has an exciting opportunity for an Installation Manager to join their Industrial Cranes Team on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the successful development and management of our client's site installation function.

Installation Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage site installation function and personnel.
  • Develop and implement the best practises for UK site installation.
  • Site activities co-ordination and planning to ensure that internal and external resources are effectively and efficiently utilised to meet customer requirements and to enable project on-time delivery performance.
  • Ensuring site installation costs are followed and managed in line with the project budget.
  • Ensuring on-time delivery/scheduling of site installation tools and services (transport, mobile cranes, access, test weights, tools etc.)
  • Managing/compiling of RAMS and lift plans to ensure timely and safe installation of products.
  • Participation of customer site meetings.
  • Build a strong co-operation model with the key internal (projects management, order engineering, crane supply, Industrial Service) and external stakeholders (subcontractors and vendors).
  • Control of site personnel qualifications and renewals.
  • Provision / maintenance and renewal of PPE equipment and apparel.

Installation Manager General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to as defined in the integrated management systems documentation and statutory requirements.
  • Actively contribute to the creation and maintenance of high morale and motivation both within the area of allocated responsibility and generally across the Company.
  • Positively contribute to the activities of the management team of the Company.
  • Implement good management practices such as planning and control.
  • Identify any specific problem areas and implement preventive actions.
  • Any other duties from time to time as reasonably requested by your Manager.

Installation Manager Requirements:

Preferred Education

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in an appropriate engineering or business discipline.


  • Good management and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience of site installation coordination and planning (preferably in overhead gantry cranes)
  • Experience of producing RAMS and lift plans.
  • Experience of working in very demanding, fast moving environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Cost management skills.

Business Travel

  • Regular/extensive (customer/site visits).

Installation Manager Key Customers / Stakeholders:

  • Project Management.
  • Order Engineering.
  • External Customers.
  • Crane Manufacturing.
  • Subcontractors (3rd party contractors and key vendors
  • Industrial Service.   

Installation Manager Collaboration Partners /Networks:

  • Quality and HSE.
