Finance and HR Assistant

Swindon, Wiltshire

£15,500 - £17,500 Per Annum

This is a part-time position, 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Purpose of Job:                      

  • Accounts Payable and general support to the finance function
  • Support to the HR function and Facilities


Accounts Payable

  • Processing Invoices – sundries, GRN
  • Supplier payment runs – our client, and ad-hoc payments such as proformas etc
  • New supplier forms requests for information & set up new accounts
  • Reconciling supplier statements to Syspro balances and investigating differences
  • Dealing with supplier account/payment queries via phone/email
  • Checking and coding expense claims and processing for our client

General Finance Support

  • Control and record foreign currency petty cash movements
  • Open and distribute mail
  • General support to Financial Controller
  • Create new ad-hoc reports on Syspro when requested

HR Support

  • Maintain the HR database including;
  • Recording sickness, holidays and travel; Organising/booking training
  • Preparing reports as and when needed, adapting them as necessary
  • Health and Safety – arrange audits, fire tests & drills
  • Facilities – arrange contractors to carry out servicing and maintenance
  • Welfare - maintaining kitchen supplies, ordering lunches, cakes etc.
  • General support to HR Director


  • Knowledge of Finance Accounting Systems
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • AAT or qualified by experience.
